Darryl Rock in Canora Written on on 2007-10-30 21:14:35 Our Minor Hockey Association brought Brent in for a Fall weekend clinic for Pre-Novice to Midget age kids. The whole weekend was awesome for everyone, including some of the older kids that "thought" they knew everything. The improvement in some of the kids was unbelievable. I heard only positive feedback from participants and parents alike. Brent brings with him not only the mechanics of skating but the energy and passion to communicate it to others. WE HAVE BOOKED HIM FOR NEXT FALL. |

Dave Leslie Written on on 2007-08-31 20:31:51 Lynn/Brent: Brett really enjoyed his class this week with Brent and is looking forward to the upcoming White City class and the hockey school. I am amazed at how well Brent was able to communicate to the class how and why a good skating stride is key for any hockey player. I noticed a definite improvement in Brett's stride/acceleration as compared to that of the first day's video session

Jock Callander Written on on 2007-06-11 17:36:05 Brent was in Cleveland to work with some kids that I coach. This is great stuff and something every hockey player needs. Players have to be able to skate to play at any of the high levels in hockey today. I wish I would have had Brents skating instruction when I was young. Jock Callander |

Dan Kuhman Written on on 2007-06-10 03:52:56 Brent's camp helped me improve my skating so much. I've been to a lot of skating camps, but this one has been the best. The way Brent teaches it makes it a fun way to be progressive with your skating. I was really impressed with my power and stride after I attended the camp. I would do it again in a heart beat. Thanks Brent |

JON ROWBOTHAM Written on on 2007-04-27 23:51:45 BRENT BOBYCK TESTIMONIAL BRENT RECENTLY CONDUCTED ONE OF HIS STATE OF THE ART POWER SKATING CAMPS FOR THE SHEFFIELD SCIMITARS ICE HOCKEY ACADEMY, FROM WHICH 102 PLAYERS ATTENDED THROUGHOUT ALL AGE GROUPS. FEEDBACK HAS BEEN EXTREMELY POSITIVE AND IT HAS BEEN NOTICED THAT THE SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF THE ATTENDEES HAS HAD VERY BENEFICIAL EFFECT ON THEIR PERFORMANCE. I WOULD COMMEND THIS TYPE OF TRAINING TO ANY TEAM OR INDIVIDUAL WHO WISH TO GAIN A DEEPER INSIGHT OF ICE HOCKEY POWER SKATING METHODOLOGY. BRENT HAS BROUGHT AN INNOVATIVE CONCEPT IN ICE HOCKEY TRAINING TO THE SHEFFIELD ACADEMY. HIS INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS WERE SUCH THAT PLAYERS OF ALL AGE GROUPS WERE EASILY ABLE TO UNDERSTAND AND APPLY THE PHILOSOPHIES INVOLVED. JON ROWBOTHAM. HEAD COACH. Darwyn Boucher Written on on 2007-03-26 05:58:14 Mitch attended 3 sessions with Brent in the summer of 2006. We noticed a huge improvement in his speed, acceleration and agility. A number of people have noticed the change in his skating ability as well. He has had some recent success in making teams and/or getting noticed and I attribute that to the quality instruction he received from Brent. In addition, Mitch feels that Brent takes a personal interest in his development. Bottom line - AWESOME EXPERIENCE! : |

Diane Sockett Written on on 2007-01-11 14:40:53 I would just like to say if any gets a chance to attend one of Brents courses and are unsure. DON'T be. My son attended one of his classes in 2005 at Queens road in Sheffield. After the course we could not believe how his skating had improved. The kids have respect for Brent and therefore give 100% from them, he manages to get the best out of the kids. My son is attending another course which he is taking in Sheffield again. So if you do get the chance don't hesitate its worth every penny. |

Marc Dease Written on on 2006-11-17 20:51:16 My son plays for the Hudson Bay atoms and the improvement in him and the other kids in his age group was phenomenal for a one weekend course. Brent's passion for what he does and his energy and enthusiasm kept the kids interested and kept them wanting to get better. He ran the drills very well and his explanations of each drill made the kids understand what was expected of them the first time. He was very encouraging to the kids, taught to a level that they could understand and was able to give constuctive critisism and correct the kids all while making them feel good about there progress. I would definately put my child in Brent's course again. Thanks Brent. Marc |

Tracy & Larry Myhr Written on on 2006-10-26 04:13:58 Hudson Bay Minor Hockey invited Brent to instruct his power skating camp. We had three groups from Atom through Midget. We were absolutely thrilled with the entire program. Brent’s high energy and passionate attitude was contagious to all ages (thus keeping the skaters motivated all week-end). The hockey players were also motivated because they could feel the quick improvement – positive reinforcement is a great inspiration. The video sessions helped the students realize their weaknesses and frame-by-frame instruction could be given. All of our feedback both from the hockey players and their parents was positive. It was truly amazing to see how much progress could be made in six hours of skating. Thanks, again, Brent! Larry & Tracy Myhr

The comments that I have been receiving from scouts and coaches is how my skating continues to improve. I deflect the credit to my work with you and look forward to returning for more sessions in the spring/summer of 2007. Thanks for all the help! Tyler Penny. |

Harold Written on on 2006-09-15 02:21:33 I have known Brent for alsmost 20 years and the enthusiasm and passion he delivers in his power skating school is second to none. The improvements Brent made with my daughter's (Kelsa) stride has been amazing to watch. Kelsa, as Bantam aged kid has made the Melville Prairie Ice Female Midget "AAA" team this year and I am confident she would not be there if it were not for the changes and improvements Brent has made with Kelsa skaiting techniques. Keep up the great work and I will recommend your skating school to everyone that wants to improve their stride and speed. |

Bert Perrault Written on on 2006-09-14 04:08:18 Thanks Brent for all the hard work you put into working with my son Dominic. I am so impressed with his improvement that I just want to tell everyone about it. Over the past few years Dominic has been working with Brent in order to improve his foot speed and mobility. This past spring and summer he was in two stride and acceleration and two transition classes with Brent. In the middle of August, Dominic was in Red Deer for their rookie camp, and received many positive comments on the improvements of his speed and mobility. We will continue to work with Brent, we feel he is the best instructor and motivator we have ever worked with. Brent has a way with kids and brings out the best in the skaters. Hockey has changed over the years and with the new rules, skating has become a huge part of this game we love. Brents knowledge and entheusiasm for the game will continue to be absorbed by the youth of Regina and surrounding. We are so very lucky to have him. |

Marc and Anita Pirio Written on on 2006-08-19 17:35:46 Brent's skating sessions are excellent. Our son and daughter have taken his sessions. He can analyse their skating technique and knows how to improve their skating. He has an excellent way of showing and explaining to the skater what he/she is doing and how to improve his/her technique to make him/her a more efficient and effective skater. Brent is very positive and can draw out the best in each skater. His activities are fun but very beneficial at the same time. We would definitely recommend Brent's sessions to everyone. Thanks, Brent. Marc and Anita Pirio. |

I was currently playing for the Hallam Rink Rats U19'S where i was assistant captain. I sttended in February 04. Brent was really enthusiastic, he combined fun with an excellent workout, many people have said i'm not the player i was. I noticed how much i improved in the 1 week. Not just my skating ability, but my confidence in myself and the game. I really appreciate the benefits from the course, and i'm greatful for brent setting it up. We had a great time with the bungee cords, and laughing at ourselves on film. I would reccomend this to anyone, wanting to improve their skating. Cheers Brent, all the best. Scott Antcliffe |

Cam Dickie Written on on 2006-04-12 16:10:46 Brent worked with a group of our novice players in Swift Current in March of 2006. I brought in players by invitation, who I felt would benefit from Brent's instruction. Many of the players are in their early years of skating and have had no instruction in power skating. After a five session camp over three days, the parents (myself included) could not believe the changes in their son's skating. Some of the things I noticed were: 1. After skating with Brent, power skating is no longer looked at as drudgery. 2. Brent's abililty to demonstrate speeds the learning curve exponentially. 3. Brent's love for the game and the kids had the group in a "coachable" state for the whole camp. (imagine 7 and 8 year olds making extended eye contact, and actually nodding yes, after instruction). 4. Brent's control of the group, and inherent ability to keep the group moving was excellent. 5. Brent incorporated the learned skills, into a game speed drill set, which blew the parents' and kids' minds. Imagine 7 and 8 year olds running a three regroup flow drill, taught by Brent in approximately 3 minutes. You had to be there. Brent cares and he loves kids. I cannot say enough about this guy and neither can our parents. Anyone can get my number through Brent at any time. The three day camp revolutionized my son's stride and revitalized a passion for skating and learning in our kids. Thanks Brent! |

Terry Stevenson Written on on 2006-04-11 17:12:13 For the past 3 years, my son, Dustin has attended Brent's Stride/Acceleration classes. The improvements on his mechanics and fluidity of his stride has improved immensely. Brent's passion for what he does is obvious and his way with kids and teaching is 2nd to none. Dustin plays AAA Midget and I feel would not be able to compete if it were not for the changes and improvements Brent had initiated. I strongly reccomend Brent's classes for your son or daughter if he or she is interested in becoming a stronger skater. |

Zach Johnson Written on on 2006-01-24 04:05:48 A year and a half ago, I played in the Bantam Prospects Camp in Regina. The feedback I got from the coaching and scouting staff was because of my height at the age of 14 (6') I was really going to have to work on my skating and core strength. My skating was rough but would improve as I got older. After working with Brent over the past year and improving my core strength, the comments and feedback I'm hearing now from evaluators, coaches, and scouts is very different. They are now commenting on my skating - how well I skate for my size (now 6'3"). It was hard work - but the key has been working with Brent and benefitting from his techniques. If you want to improve your skating, be noticed, and be in control of your game, Brent's classes are the place to be. Thanks Brent! |

Linda Zarzeczny and Brian Barrington-Foo Written on on 2006-01-14 17:07:54 Our son has had a number of sessions with Brent and we have been extremely pleased and impressed. We've seen a marked improvement in our son's skating and he really enjoys going to the classes. Brent Bobyck not only has vast skating knowledge, but he also knows how to teach it so that kids understand. Brent is terrific with kids, has seemingly limitless energy, is enthusiastic and always positive. We really are very lucky to have him here in Regina. |

Tracey Dunnigan Written on on 2006-01-02 06:55:33 I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your efforts with my son at one of your latest power skating camps. As a mom with limited hockey knowledge and experience I have come to rely on a few of the guys that I work with to offer their suggestions. I am fortunate that these guys have played some pretty serious hockey and several of them I have come to respect and value. I was given your name by one of these guys and when I mentioned it to Matt he immediately said mom that is the guy from HSD and he was awesome. That says more then any brochure ever could. As a parent I could not say enough about your style, committment, passion or the respect that you showed the kids at both this camp and the HSD camp. The size of the class and the direct attention that each child recieved was awesome. And that was evident by the noticable improvement of all the boys. There are far too many camps with the ice over flowing so it was a welcomed changes to see only 14 on the ice for that entire hour and forty five minutes! Thank you for being such a great teacher and role model! For any parent that is looking for a top nautch teacher make sure you give Brent a call. |

Calvin Nichol Written on on 2005-12-31 22:20:33 I met Brent by chance during player evaluations this past October. His enthusiasm towards teaching skating techniques was clearly evident and very contagious. After our team was picked, we immediately hired Brent to instruct proper striding and acceleration techniques. We are currently undefeated in league play and 19-1-1 including all games. One major point of difference between our team and others is the overall speed of our players vs our competitors. In fact, 3 of our players were called up by our older team and dominated play when they were on the ice! Thank you Brent for your great teaching techniques and love for the game! You are an asset to Canada's sport! The foundation you provide players will certainly help them get to their highest level. |

Danny Wood Written on on 2005-09-20 02:32:53 Team: Shattuck St-Mary's, USA. Minor Midget AAA. Brent Bobyck has instructed many camps that I have attended. The first time I got coaching from Brent was at the Blaisdell hockey school when I was 10 years old. Since then he ran the occasional class down at the old Queens Road rink in Sheffield, UK. This summer (2005) I have had the opportunity to get the chance to skate on the new elite level programs that Brent has set up in Regina. I have been to many camps in North America and Europe and this last weeks camp (21st-26th) ranks right up there with the best of them! Absolutely awesome. Every player picks up bad habits with their skating and because Brent's classes are not usually bigger than 13 skaters, that means Brent can give 1 on 1 coaching to his students. This is something that you won't find at your normal power skating or hockey school! Brent videos each player individually at the start of the week and spends time off the ice discussing and analyzing with the player about their good and bad habits. This is very useful as it gives the player a chance to see themselves in a way they wouldn't normally. The video analysis also gives Brent the chance to give the player pointers and he gives the player something to work on. Brent is a machine, he does 5 classes a day but what impresses me is that he takes his great enthusiasm and passion onto the ice every time. He is there for the players and puts his heart and soul into making them better which is what you want from an instructor. Brent knows how to challenge the players whether it is a younger skater or an older skater. If you are serious about improving your skating and you are willing to ‘buy into’ what Brent is teaching you will find dramatic changes in your skating stride/style. I would recommend Brent’s power skating to anyone, amateur or professional players. Brent’s program will become the best power skating course available to players in Canada in the next few years without a doubt! Thanks for a really good week.

Todd Strueby Written on on 2005-08-30 03:14:40 My partners, Drew Callander, Darren McKechnie and Byron Witkowski run the HSD hockey school in Regina Saskatchewan. We have all p[layed hockey at a high level. We had Brent come out and instruct his power skating technique to our 100 or so kids. Brent has brought hockey skating to a high new level. His instruction and ability to communicate with all ages is amazing. His enthusiasim for teaching is second to none. Anyone who is lucky enough to take instruction from Brent "will" be a better skater and without a doubt the more Brent works with someone, the better they will be. Thank you Bobber for doing our school and we hope you will be available again next year! |

Rob Black Regina. Written on on 2005-08-09 19:47:24 Both of my sons have enrolled in his transition and stride/acceleration classes. Brent is an excellent instructor who is great with the kids. After one week you can see a significant improvement in their skating. He uses video sessions to capture each player’s skating stride. In an off-ice session Brent explains, to each player, where they need to focus their energy and effort to improve. His on-ice sessions are focused on providing drills that correct player’s problems. I never knew Brent before this summer. All I can say is that I was extremely impressed with his program, his techniques and his way with the kids.

Jordan Bodfield Written on on 2005-08-08 21:09:58 I heard about Brent Bobyck's skating school through playing Roller Hockey. I wanted to go on this to try to improve my skating. I play ice hockey for Nottingham U12s and Nottingham U14s and also Midlands U13s ( all UK teams ). Because of Brent I have learned to stride so that I can skate faster with less effort. I have used what Brent taught me to training and playing and I have improved and got faster. We have won gold in the U12s and in the U14s and I even helped win gold in U13s Midlands. Brent's school has helped me do this. |
